At uncovr, we believe privacy is fundamental. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our music discovery platform.
What We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide you with a personalized music discovery experience:
- Email address – Used exclusively for authentication (magic link, or via Google/Apple sign-in)
- Collections & Favorites – Albums, artists, and tracks you save
- Cover Interactions – Which covers you swipe to save, skip, or save-to-folder while discovering, tied to your account. We use this to personalize what you see next and to build and improve our recommendation algorithm. This is not anonymous — it's linked to your account so it can actually learn your taste — and it is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.
- Ratings & Comments – Your reviews and feedback on discoveries
- Anonymous Usage Signals – Interactions like clicks and page views, without personal identifiers
We do not use tracking cookies, and we never share the data above with advertisers, marketers, or data brokers. Nothing here is used to track you across other apps or websites.
Authentication
We use Supabase's magic link authentication to keep your account secure. Here's how it works:
- You provide your email address
- We send you a secure, time-limited link
- Click the link to sign in – no password needed
- Your email is never stored in plaintext; it's securely hashed
We never ask for or store passwords. This approach is simpler, more secure, and eliminates the risk of password breaches.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely in Supabase, a cloud-hosted database service with industry-standard encryption and security measures.
Album metadata and music information come from public music databases and are used solely to power our discovery features.
Supabase complies with GDPR and other international data protection regulations.
Third-Party Services
uncovr relies on the following trusted services:
- Supabase – Authentication, database, and user data storage
- Vercel – Web hosting and content delivery
- Spotify – Preview playback links only (we do not store your Spotify credentials or access your Spotify account)
We share only the minimum necessary information with these services to operate uncovr. We do not sell or share your data with marketers, advertisers, or data brokers.
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Delete your account – Permanently remove your profile and all associated data
- Export your data – Request a copy of your collections and preferences
- Opt out of analytics – Stop sending usage signals

Data Sharing
Your data is used solely to:
- Provide and improve the uncovr service
- Keep your account secure
- Personalize your music discovery experience
Analytics
We collect two different kinds of usage data, and treat them differently:
- Anonymous usage signals – Which features are popular, how users navigate the app, common flows. Never tied to your identity; we never track IP addresses or personal identifiers here.
- Cover interactions (linked to your account) – Every swipe (save, skip, save-to-folder) is logged against your account id so we can personalize your discovery feed and train uncovr's own recommendation algorithm. It is used only for that purpose, is never sold or shared with third parties, and is never used to advertise to you.
You can opt out of anonymous usage analytics at any time by contacting us. Cover interaction data powers the core discovery feature itself, so it isn't separately toggleable — but like everything else tied to your account, it is permanently deleted the moment you delete your account (see "Your Rights" below).
Children
uncovr is not directed at or intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we've collected data from a child under 13, we will immediately delete it.
